This is a 2-in-1 project. The pattern includes instructions to make either a skirt or a pinafore. This cute pattern has been designed thanks to a gift I needed for a friend’s granddaughter. :)

This pattern is in two parts - in the first part, we’ll make the skirt, and then we’ll add on the top to make it a pinafore - so you decide how far you want to take this project - i.e just a skirt, or a pinafore.

This pattern also has a little jacket / coat made with a similar stitch pattern, that is available separately (currently being tested - 06 June 2014)

This pattern is written using US terminology, and comes with a chart, superb explanations as well as photos as needed for explanation.
Gauge has been given in pattern.

Basic stitches used : ch, sc, dc ; knowledge of fsc, hdc and post stitches good, but instructions/tutorial given in pattern ; basic sewing skills to stitch on button(s)

This pattern has been tested using :
a) Vardhaman Millenium 100 gms / 330 yds ; 4.5 mm crochet hook ;

b) Oswal Yaguchi , 100 gms / 4.5 mm crochet hook ;
Comments : Instructions very clear, Photos / illustrations helpful ; abbreviations / techniques explained very well ; took about 6 hrs worked at a stretch ; Very cute.. love the dress!!

c) Vardhaman Millenium ; 150gms, 4.5 mm crochet hook ,
Comments : Made M size skirt, took not much time, Instructions, illustrations / photos very clear;

d) Red heart Sport,70 gm/165 yds ; 4mm (G)crochet hook,
Comments :Instructions / Illustrations and Photos are all very good. Everything well explained in abbreviations ; Took about 4-5 hrs total working time ;
Skill level by tester : Advanced beginner ; the stitches themselves aren’t too complicated, especially once you do one row of each type of stitch; a very new crocheter might have problems, but someone who’s done a project or 2 should have no difficulties with this.

e) Spangle 8ply DK ply, 450 yds, 4 mm (G) crochet hook;
Comments : Instructions / Illustrations and photos good ; all abbreviations & techniques well explained ; took about 10 hours to complete ; Thank you for a quick fun test.
