Perfect just in time for a quick Christmas gift. You can knit and finish it in a couple of hours.

This hat is a super easy bulky hat that looks and fits better than one knitted in plain stockinette.

The pattern combines the LB T&Q with a simple stitch that adds a little visual interest, but, more importantly, creates a firm fabric that is perfect for a fitted hat that holds it shape and can withstand the abuse of heavy use.
No ribbing is required. The bottom edge uses a simple crochet chain as a decorative trim that prevents rolling.

My version was knitted flat and then seamed up the side. Simple changes would allow you to knit it in the round as well.
