Easy Weekend Sideways Vest
Easy vest knitted side-to-side and seamed has optional instructions for lessening the ‘drop shoulder’ effect. The front sections are done in a variegated color and the back is done in a solid color.
The recommended yarn is Gypsy Spun by Kiparoo Farms, which is an Aran-to-Bulky weight wool consisting of 100-110 yards per hank. Requirements for this yarn are as follows:
Solid color: 2 (3, 3) skeins
Variegated: 3 (4, 4) skeins
A size G or H crochet hook is used to create the edging.
A braided belt is secured in the side seams and tied around the back of the vest.
The pattern uses a repeating ‘K 3 rows, P 1 row’, which almost gives the result the look of a sideways crocheted garment done in ridge stitch (where the crochet is done thru the back loops). 4 buttons complete the front.
