Ebb and Flow is a crescent, or semi-circular shawl designed to fit comfortably on the shoulders to warm the upper back. It features stripes of colour and texture, and a deep lace border based on Auld Shell. It is knitted from the nape of the neck to end with the border.

I used four shades of Uradale jumper weight (4 ply) on a 4.5mm long circular needle. I used most of two balls of the main colour - but if you worked more stripes of the other colours into the top part, you might not need the second.

The increases for shaping are all made with yarn overs - there is a circular increase which creates eyelets and texture, and an ends increase which adds two stitches to the row.

My shawl measures 160cm around the upper edge, 280cm around the lower edge and 60cm deep at the centre back.
