Ebbtide is an elegantly simple shawl that makes the most of semi-solid and tonally dyed yarns.

Worked from the top down, the shawl features waving bands of stockinette and feather and fan lace that show off tonal variations in the yarn to great advantage. Ebbtide culminates in a band of Sand Dollar lace – a variation on Barbara Walker’s Sunspots pattern. This circular motif is surprisingly straightforward to work, and makes a stunning finish to the shawl.

The pattern includes both charts and written instructions for the lace stitch patterns.
