This scarf is designed using a little known Japanese stitch that is a variation of mock cables and cable stitches, giving the stitch a very unusual look. It is adorned by another of the Japanese mock cable stitches. The turtleneck section guarantees that you’ll be warm even though the scarf is made using sport weight yarn on a size (U.S.) #4 needle (3.5mm). I think you’ll have fun knitting this stitch, and the FO will either make a great scarf for you or a very special gift.
Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of knitting, purling and yo’s).
The stitches are charted in this pattern. There are also instructions contained within the pattern for an optional crocheted edging.
The scarf was expertly tested by Neetsey Florea who can be contacted at: neetsey.florea@gmail.com. The sample was knitted using Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sport in colorway “Mirth”.
