Echo Scarf
The Streak of Lightning block is one often used on large scale in modern quilting. Some quilts only feature one or two big zig-zags to create a bold dramatic effect. This design is inspired by such quilts. In this design, the movement of the Streak of Lightning block is the focus. Here, a bright stripe of color moves through the center of the scarf like an echo in a cave.
This scarf is extra long and is meant to use every last yard of the contrasting color. However, a shorter scarf (half the length) can be made with just one ball of contrasting color, if desired.
