Three Birds Yarn Studio
This bulky weight ‘Eclipse Beanie’ uses a combination of different sized, right and left leaning cable crosses. The cable stitches come together to form a circular design that I think resembles a lunar eclipse.
Along with written instructions for this pattern, I have included a chart to follow for the body portion of the hat, depending on your preference.
Gauge
Using US 11 (8.0mm) needles:
12.5 sts and 17 rows make a 4” (10cm) square in stockinette stitch, unblocked
Finished measurements
9” (23cm) tall with an 18” (46cm) circumference
Materials Needed
85 yards (85g) of bulky weight yarn Recommended yarn: Malabrigo Chunky
US 9 (5.5mm) 16” (41cm) circular needles
US 11 (8.0mm) 16” (41cm) circular needles
US 11 (8.0mm) double pointed needles Stitch marker
Cable needle
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
