This pattern is written in English using the amigurumi technique (working in continuous rounds) using american crochet abbreviations.

The size of the finished cactus will depend on the yarn used. My was made with a DK cotton and 2.5mm hook and made a cactus that stands around 19cm / 7.5” high. I also give you idea to make sure your cactus stands without toppling.

This is a quick and easy project that can be made in a couple of hours and would make a cute addition to your desk or a nice gift for a friend.

To complete this project you’ll need:

Green, sand and blue (or your choice) yarn of all the same weight.
2.5mm crochet hook or size appropriate to your yarn choice.
Toy stuffing
Yarn needle
Pair of tights (optional)
Gravel, rice, glass beads etc to weight the base (optional)
