This shawl is knit side-to-side with the top I-cord edge, body, and the lace edging all done at the same time. So when you’re done, all you need to do is weave in ends and block. The blue shawl was done with Ella Rae Lace Merino Worsted (3 skeins or 654 yards) using a #9 needle. Gauge for worsted weight yarn is 13 sts and 22 rows = 4 inches, blocked. The finished measurements for the worsted weight shawl are 64” across the top edge and 30” at center back including lace edging when blocked. If you are working with a limited amount of yarn, work the increase rows until you have used half of your yarn. Then begin the decreasing section. This will affect the final measurements but the shawl can be made smaller or larger with this method.
