Edith Vest
The Edith Vest is the granny square vest/top you always wanted!
Made up of granny squares and granny stitch, your Granny would be so proud.
The pattern requires 4 or 5ply yarn (fingering or Sport weight) and is written for 5 sizes from XS to XL.
The pattern lends itself to making larger sizes following on from the gauge chart and using 8ply/dk/light weight yarn.
I’ve used Hobbii Yarn Rainbow Bamboo, one main colour and five contrast colours for the squares. Feel free to use as many contrast colours as you like, a great way to use up scraps.
Hook suggestions vary between 3.5mm/E to 4.5mm/F to obtain gauge.
All sizes make 21 squares and 4 half/not-quite squares.
Joining method for all squares is the CJAYG - continuous join as you go - method. There is a photo tutorial and a video on my Instagram @littlegoldennook for some of the top section.
The Vest is made in two sections and seamed together. All ribbing is worked directly on to the vest.
To make a cropped version, simply make 5 fewer squares!
