knitted in the round and feel free to make your own choices for stranded patterns. Just make sure You make stranded pattern or knit with “ladders” so You get a 4 layer item (for better heat protection)

Your gauge is not that cruical. But You have to have in mind, that fewer or more sts is required for getting 20X20 cm. Just make sure, that if You have a motif, that it is centeret in the middle of the piece.
