Ege the Dolphin
Update : as of April 2019, this pattern has been retired
6/11/16: Quick update, there was a small error on the original pattern. In the dorsal/tail fin section, the stitch count for Round 3 and 4 was off. Previously Round 3 said 20 and Round 4 said 30, it should be Round 3 : 15, Round 4: 20. This has been corrected in the most recent version of the pattern.
Meet Ege the Dolphin!
This friendly looking little crochet toy is easy to make and works up very quickly. It would make a great first amigurumi project.
The pattern is written in American crochet terms and features only basic stitches (sc with increases and decreases). There is minimal sewing involved (5 small attachments about about 4-8 stitches each).
Instructions for where, when, and how to add the attachments have been included in the pattern, along with an appendix with over 20 photos of how to work the attachments.
The pattern includes gauging to make an 8” or 10” toy, though smaller and larger sizes can also be created (just use the appropriate hook size for your yarn)
Upon ordering the pattern, you’ll receive a PDF file that has formatted for fast download.
You’ll need the following to get started:
- about 1/2 a skein of your preferred yarn (worsted weight)
- darning needle
- safety eyes (recommended for children) or buttons
- stuffing
If using lighter yarn, use the hook size recommended for your yarn, though note the finished toy will be smaller.
I am also more than happy to help out if you have any questions or trouble along the way.
