WHICH CAME FIRST?

Whip up a half dozen cute little Chicks & Eggs to give as lovely Spring gifts, or as part of an Easter basket. Life size: approximately 2.5” (6cm) tall.

Quick & easy to make, these can be made of any yarn material, whether cotton, wool, acrylic, or fun fur. The Chicks & Eggs pictured are made of 100% natural unbleached cotton.

A great gift idea is to make a half dozen of each and “wrap” them in an egg carton!

Difficulty level: Easy

Materials (per Chick or Egg):

• worsted weight yarn or wool
• crochet hook, size H (8) 5.00mm
• yarn needle to weave in ends
• 1/8” satin ribbon, about 8” (20cm) (Chick: yellow, Egg: white)
• embroidery floss for mouth (orange)
• embroidery needle
• 1.5” x 1.5” (4cm x 4cm) felt (Chick: gold)
• polyester fiberfill (stuffing/wadding)
• 9mm post & washer safety eyes
• craft glue

Stitches used: chain, single crochet, single crochet 2 together, slip stitch, magic ring (optional)
