"Eggster" Easter Basket
This is a felted Easter Basket/ Easter bag. It uses some basic colorwork techniques and is a good first project for someone who has never done colorwork because it is harder to see mistakes in the pattern after it is felted. There are felting instructions included for the top-loading washer method of felting. This Pattern includes both written instructions and charts for the colorwork portions.
The wool suggested for the project is Brownsheep Naturespun and I have also seen this done beautifully in Cascade 220. The yarn used in the pictures is a yarn that I dyed myself using 1 465 yd ball of fishermen’s wool and some packets of Kool-aid. I put the exact ratio of yards to packets and colors of Kool-aid if this is something you are interested in doing. Though there are no instructions on the actual dyeing process they are easily attainable all over the web. The top link in this search is really helpful in learning to dye your own yarn Dyeing Wool with Kool-aid
There are options to keep the basket a little bit floppy like a bag or creating a really sturdy basket depending on your preferences!
All in all it is a really fun project with a multitude of options and some really fun techniques
