This simple to knit sweater is worked from the top down. An effective all over easy pattern has been incorporated, and is sure to make a great every day go to sweater to threw on. The sweater has been tech edited, and test knitted, no seaming required. This sweater has been graded as suitable for the Intermediate Knitter, however if you are an Advanced Beginner, and confident knitting in the round this would be a great pattern to progress with.
Sweater – Sizes: A 1 year, B 2 years, C 4 years, D 6 years, E 8 years, F 10 years, G 12 years
Skill level : Intermediate
MATERIALS REQUIRED - Sweater was knitted in 100% Australian superfine merino ‘The Australian Wool Store’
117m/128 yds per 50 gram ball balls
A -- 150 grams, 350 metres, 385 yds
B -- 180 grams, 420 metres, 460 yds
C -- 220 grams, 515 metres, 565 yds
D -- 250 grams, 585 metres, 640 yds
E -- 305 grams, 715 metres, 780 yds
F -- 350 grams, 820 metres, 895 yds
G -- 400 grams, 935 metres, 1025 yds
SUITABLE SUBSTITUTE YARN - Cascade 220 Superwash 8-Ply (DK) - Colour: (Doeskin heather (1926)
NEEDLES REQUIRED
4 mm (US 6 : UK 8) Circular needles, 40 cm (16 in)
4 mm (US 6 : UK 8) Circular needles, 60 cm (24 in)
One set of double pointed 4 mm (US 6 : UK 8) needles
TENSION / GAUGE
21 sts x 29 rows = 10 cm (4 in) worked in stocking stitch on 4 mm(US 6 : UK 8) needles.
A typo in 3rd column of Page 2
Under the heading FOR SIZES D, E, F & G pattern states ‘Work as for size 4 …..’
Although this is not incorrect to retain consistency and style for this pattern this should read ‘Work as for Size C.
