Eguberri On! Is what we say in Euskadi when Christmas or Yule arrives. I’ve been obsessed with this tree ornaments for a while, and last August I tried a few different patterns and this one is the one what transcended from all that experimentation.

They can be knit with very little yarn, so they are a blast for sock yarn stashbusting, or to show off that amazing miniskein of handspun fingering you have lying around. If you are careful with the storage, this can last for ages, and I know for sure that my tree this year will be a riot of wild color and knitting. Will you join me?

Materials: 10gr of fingering yarn (Color A), 5 gr of fingering yarn (Color B). 2’5mm needles (I use long circulars and magic circle, dpns are wellcome too if you are more used). Cushion stuffing (I scavenge around the sofa). Two different markers. Darning needle.

Techniques: Stranded color knitting, increasing, decreasing, knitting in the round.

Eguberri On! Es lo que decimos en Euskadi cuando llega la Navidad. Me obsesioné con estos adornos para el árbol durante algún tiempo y en Agosto hice unas cuantas variaciones hasta llegar a este patrón que tienes entre manos.

Se pueden tejer con muy poquita lana y son geniales para quitar pequeños pingos de lana de calcetines o para fardar de esa lana hilada a mano que tienes dando vueltas. Si las guardas con cuidado, pueden durar años y lo que tengo claro es que mi árbol este año va a estar lleno de color y lana. ¿Te apuntas?

Materiales: 10gr de lana Fingering (Color A), 5 gr de lana fingering(Color B). Agujas de 2’5mm (Yo hago magic circle con unas circulares, pero puedes usar las de doble punta). Relleno de cojín (yo voy robándolo por el sofá). Dos marcadores. Aguja de coser.

Técnicas: Tejer a dos colores, aumentar, disminuir, tejer en circular.
