Ehryn is a generously sized triangular shawl knit from the top down, featuring a subtle textured rib pattern in the shawl body and finishing with a lattice lace band and ruffle.

While gauge is not critical, it may affect the amount of yardage required. A 10% “bumper” was added to the actual amount of yarn required.

Though the pattern was written for a DK weight yarn, there is no reason it couldn’t be knit in a different weight yarn as long as you allow for your yardage and use needles that provide a substantial but still supple and drapey fabric.

Notes are included within the pattern instructions to modify the shawl size if desired.

Finished Size (Including ruffle):
80” wide across the top x 40” in depth (measured at center spine). Sides are approximately 56.6” long.

Needles:
Size US 7 (4.5 mm) and US 5 (3.75 mm) - 40” inch circular needles. Although this pattern is worked flat, a circular needle is used to accommodate the large number of stitches. Adjust needle size, if necessary, to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions:
Stitch markers, tapestry needle, blocking wires.

Sample in photographs knit in The Verdant Gryphon Traveller; Colorway Jodhpur. 4 skeins (280 yds each) were used.
