This pattern is very special to me because it is dedicated to my lovely mother. In November of last year she was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer. We’re VERY thankful that her form of cancer is slow growing but it is not curable. Cancer is a battle no one should have to fight and my heart goes out to anyone who has experienced this first hand either through their own diagnosis or a friend/family member.

My mother and I went to France as our first out-of-the-country trip and I fell in love with it! This pattern had been in the back of my mind for a while but was difficult to translate onto paper (or yarn). When she was diagnosed, it was assumed she had a very, very shortened lifespan. I kicked it into high gear to make sure I could release it and dedicate it to her before things took a turn for the worse. Thankfully, through the ups and downs, she is still out there traveling and kicking cancer’s butt as best as she can!

Okay, now for the pattern information!

Eiffel Tower Flower is an overlay mosaic crochet pattern that is worked row-by-row. The pattern is 234 x 271 stitches and included a stylized border of 13 rounds!

Left-hand instructions now available!!

Included in the pattern are photo and video tutorials on overlay mosaic crochet and the border technique. Also included are yardage and standard sizes for 4-weight, 3-weight, and 2-weight yarn. You will receive the original pattern PDF, printer-friendly PDF, a single page graph, and a guide to overlay mosaic crochet.

I made mine with a 4 mm hook and light worsted weight yarn. The border was made with a 3.5 mm hook. I used Cascade 220 in Soft Pink (BG) and Shire (CC). For the border, I used Cascade 220 in Soft Pink (CC) and Heather (BG). I used a total of approximately 2,050 yards (932g) of Shire and 2,250 yards (1,023g) of Soft Pink excluding the border. The stylized border used approximately 610 yards (277g) of Soft Pink and 1,250 yards (568g) of Heather. The size is approximately 48” wide by 61” tall excluding the border (55” x 68” including the border).

This is a beginner/intermediate level pattern and includes a beginner’s guide on overlay mosaic crochet as well as a video tutorial on both the overlay mosaic crochet technique and the center-out technique.

The PDF pattern is written in U.S. terminology and includes the full written pattern in a row-by-row format, as well as the ticked graphs. The written format is in a new, easier to read format! Also included is a printer-friendly PDF that allows you to print only the necessities for the pattern.

Please note that different yarns, different tensions, and different hook sizes will all utilize a different amount of yarn. All yarn totals are included in the pattern.
