I found an old hotpad/coaster at my grandma’s house, probably made by some recent ancestor of mine, and decided to reverse-engineer it. This pattern is the result.

To get eight petals, the pattern must add a lot of stitches per row. As a result, it may ripple a bit while you’re making it. Be sure to block it heavily to fix this.
