Eilean cowl is worked in a crisp yarn with silky sheen and excellent stitch definition, which give the cowl pretty texture reminiscent of whitecapped waves rushing toward shorelines. Although it may look complicated, this interesting stitch pattern is very easy to memorize because it’s created with simple yarn overs and basic decreases.

The cowl knits up quickly and is appropriate for men and women, which makes this a great last-minute gift project. The size of the cowl is easy to customize thanks to the small pattern repeat; it can be made to fit anyone, from a small child to a large adult.

Directions are included for two sizes, a 420-yard infinity cowl (in photos) and a 210-yard neckwarmer (not pictured).
