Worked with Elemental Affects Coastal yarn, which is a breathable mix of merino, silk, and flax, this short-sleeved tee is ideal for warm-weather comfort. The tee is worked seamlessly from the top down and features a wide panel of 4-stitch cables along the center front and back. The subtle swing shape is achieved by increasing the number of purl stitches between the individual cable columns and by working increases each side of each of the two cable panels.
Stitches are cast on for the upper back, which is worked down to the base of the armholes. Then stitches for the front are picked up across the back shoulders and are also worked down to the base of the armholes, with the neck shaped along the way. The body is then joined and worked in rounds to the hem. Stitches for the sleeves are picked around the armholes, the caps shaped with short-rows, then worked in rounds to the edging. The body, sleeves, and neckline are trimmed with k3, p1 ribbing.
The cable pattern grows out of a 4-stitch repeat of k3, p1. At the start of the pattern, each 3-stitch k3 column is increased to 4 stitches to accommodate the 4-stitch cables.
The A-line body shaping is achieved by increasing the number of purl stitches between the 4-stitch cable columns in the cable panels at center back and front, as well as by adding new knit stitches on each side of the cable panels.
