Curled edges on a scarf are a perennial problem. Even a garter stitch edge or an I-cord edge doesn’t always keep the long sides of a scarf from curling inward, especially at the break from the main body stitch pattern and the border. This scarf uses knitwise slipped stitches and alternating yarn overs in strategic locations to maintain structural balance that prevents curling.
The scarf is worked in two pieces, each exactly the same except for the last additional garter stitch row on the second scarf piece. To finish, work the two pieces together, right sides facing, with a three needle bind-off. For a wider scarf, repeat the 10 center lace pattern stitches
