PATTERN AVAILABLE ON RAVELRY APRIL 25th

The Eira Jumper is a light and airy knit, featuring a boxy, slightly oversized fit, a boat neckline, and bishop sleeves.

It is perfect as an extra layer during spring and early autumn, or as a light blouse on a breezy summer day.

The original blouse is knitted with a single strand of linen held with a strand of silk mohair. The linen yarn adds a touch of structure, while the mohair ensures the stitches remain open, light in appearance and drape.

The pattern is beginner-friendly, with a simple construction suitable for advanced / adventurous beginners.

The blouse is knitted top-down, predominantly in the round, requiring no sewing.
The front and back pieces are worked back and forth in stockinette stitch until they are joined under the arms, after which the body is knitted in the round. The blouse can be knitted with or without i-cord edges, depending on personal preference. They are added to avoid the edges rolling up but can easily be omitted.
The sleeves are knitted in the round, and their distinctive balloon shape is created by adjusting the needle size. The neckline is also shaped by shoulder pieces, knitted on a smaller needle size, a detail creating a V-shaped drape at the top of the sleeve.

The positive ease of the original blouse is approximately 30 cm.
If you would like a more, or less, oversized fit, you can adjust the size you are knitting based on the measurements.
