Eisley
Armor yourself in cables — Eisley, by Meghan Babin, is a soft, light shield from the elements, featuring interlocking V-cable motifs on the lower body, which are naturally overtaken by the central V-cable motif. The diagonal lines are crafted with intuitive 2x2 cable crossings on a simplified modified-drop-shoulder silhouette, making this pattern easy to memorize while working for a meditative knitting experience. A slightly cropped length gives the sweater a modern fit that works as well with dresses as it does with high-waisted jeans or trousers.
Eisley’s front + back are worked from the bottom up, blocked, then joined at the shoulders from held stitches with a three-needle bind off. The sleeves are picked up at the armholes and worked from the top down, featuring the same central cable motif for additional protection from the elements. The neckband is picked up and worked in the round. Finally, the underarms and sides are seamed and a final block to set the sleeves and seams.
NOTE: This is an ADVANCED pattern; the upper body of this sweater IS NOT charted. The cable motif is well-established and repetitive by this point, and once established is easy to memorize and refer to the main charts for the central cable repeat every six rows. The diagonal cables are repetitive 2x2 cable crossings and simply repeat until there aren’t enough sts to complete a crossing.

33 sts and 44 rows = 4” / 10 cm in Charted patt on Size A needle, after blocking.
Note:** The cable pattern expands dramatically with wet blocking; take time to wet-block your swatch as you would your finished garment. Additionally, take time to swatch the 2x2 rib, as they are both crucial to the fit.*
