Elabin the Enchanted Selkie
The Story!
Selkies, otherwise known as “Seal People”, are found in Irish, Scottish, and Scandinavian mythology. They live in the ocean disguised as seals, then come to the beach and shed their skin upon the rocks to sunbathe or dance in the moonlight naked.
Selkies often long to live on land when they are in the water yet yearn for the water when they are on land! According to some folklore, a Selkie who has had their seal skin stolen cannot return to the water, Additionally, a Selkie who has chosen to live on land, yet returns to the water may never come back to land!
It is also said that a Selkie/Human cross-breed will have webbed fingers and toes, (do you know anyone with webbed fingers or toes?)!
Meet Elabin, an adorable Selkie you can keep for your very own!
