“Elbows up“ is a rallying call to arms (or, rather, elbows) in hockey, made famous by one of Canada’s favourite Gords, Mr. Elbows himself, Gordie Howe. It’s a call to protect yourself and fight back.

This slouchy, hockey-style toque is a great project to show off your love of hockey and your love of the Great White North. The pattern has written directions for the non-Fair Isle portions and charts for the colourwork. Your download will include both a full-colour pattern and a printer-friendly, black and white version. The files will be available to you for download immediately after purchase.

To complete the pattern, you need to be able to:

  • Knit (K)
  • Purl (P)
  • Knit 2 together (K2tog)
  • Follow and work a colourwork chart

Materials Needed:

  • 62 metres (68 yards) worsted weight red yarn
  • 27 metres (30 yards) worsted weight white yarn
  • 45 metres (50 yards) worsted weight black yarn

When worked to gauge, fits a 53 cm – 57cm (21” – 22.5”), average adult head
