One of the three objects making up the Deathly Hallows, the Elder Wand was made by Death himself—at least, according to “The Tale of the Three Brothers,” which Harry hears for the first time in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1. Instantly recognizable from its unique silhouette, this powerful wand passed through many hands before landing in those of Albus Dumbledore. When crafting Dumbledore’s wand, prop makers did not know it would turn out to be such a powerful, important artifact. Nevertheless, it benefitted from their commitment to giving each wand a unique shape. “…It’s very recognizable, even from a distance,” says prop modeler Pierre Bohanna, “Obviously it’s the biggest gun on the set, so to speak. As far as wands are concerned, it’s the wand to beat all others.”

Beginning with an elegant cabled ribbed cuff, these stunning knee socks are worked in the round from the top down. Stranded colorwork creates an Elder Wand running up the front of the leg, while a wide wedge toe and reinforced heel flap and gusset provide a comfortable fit. It is recommended that the socks are worked two at a time to ensure equal colorwork gauge.
