Electric Squeeze: With its notched collar, short sleeves and ribbed waist, this sweater is ready for happy sunshine days.
The on-trend details don’t make this pattern any harder to knit, though; it’s straightforward and beginner-friendly, with clear, detailed instructions and stitch counts included throughout. The sweater is size inclusive and has been tech edited and test knitted.*

This versatile lightweight sweater can be paired with shorts for a picnic in the park or dress it up with high-waisted pants for a night on the town. And its simple silhouette makes it a great canvas for fun yarn. Go for a casual look with bright speckles or get fancy with a sparkly neutral; the styling will complement solids and tonals beautifully, too.

Construction: Electric Squeeze is worked top down, so you can try on as you go. German short rows are used to shape the neck; there is a link to a tutorial if you are unfamiliar with this technique (it’s not hard!). It is worked flat until the notched collar is complete and then in the round for the remainder of the sweater.

Size selection: This sweater is intended to be worn with approximately 0 - 2”/0 - 5 cm positive ease. More information about selecting the right size can be found in the pattern.

Gauge
22 stitches and 28 rows to 4”/ 10 cm in stockinette stitch

Yarn
Fingering/sock yarn; estimated quantity of yarn required: Approximately 135 (155, 175, 200)(225, 245, 265)(280, 300, 320) grams/ 600 (675, 765, 875)(985, 1075, 1160)(1225, 1315, 1400) yards/540 (615, 700, 800)(900, 985, 1060)(1120, 1200, 1280) meters.
The sample was worked with Spun Right Round Classic Sock, a 100% superwash merino wool yarn with 438 yards per 100 grams. The sample color is “Party Streamers.” Other wool or wool-blend sock/fingering-weight yarns will work well for this pattern. Other fibers/fiber blends of equivalent weight could also be substituted, but the drape of the fabric might differ.

Needles
Needle size: US #7/4.5 mm and #6/4.0 mm, or size needed to achieve gauge plus one size smaller.

Type of needles: 16”/40 cm circular or straight needles in smaller size for cast-on at neck; 16”/40 cm circular needle in larger size for beginning of yoke; 24”/60 cm or larger, as appropriate, circular needle in larger size for body of sweater; DPNs in both sizes for sleeves (or longer circular needles, if you prefer to use the Magic Loop method for working in the round).

Notions
• Tapestry needle
• 5 stitch markers
• You will also need something to hold the sleeve stitches while the body of the sweater is worked: either 2 long lengths of scrap yarn in contrasting color or 2 long spare circular needles.
