This sweater has a couple of design options – basic stockinette stitch or the addition of a simple braid to the front, back and/or sleeves. There are also edging options – a rolled edge, two wide rib edges, or a false cable edge. We recommend allowing for 4” of ease, so choose a size that is approximately 4” larger than the widest part of the individual’s chest/abdomen. Keep in mind that working the braid option in both the front and back will make the finished measurement approximately 1” smaller.

SKILLS NEEDED: Basics, simple shaping, simple cable (optional), finishing.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS:
Circumference: 37” (39” / 41” / 43” / 45” / 47” / 49” / 52”)
Length: 18.5” (19” / 20” / 21” / 21.5” / 22” / 23” / 23”)

MATERIALS NEEDED: Approximately 1040 (1100 / 1200 / 1275 / 1365 / 1425 / 1540 / 1600) yards of a worsted weight yarn, US #5 (3.75 mm) and US #7 (4.5 mm) knitting needles (or size needed to obtain gauge), 2 medium sized stitch holders, blunt darning needle, cable needle if working the braid.

GAUGE: 20 sts and 26 rows per 4” in stockinette stitch on larger needles.
