It’s easier to protect your feet with slippers than to carpet the entire world. - unknown

I really wanted an elegant, feminine slipper that was delicate and beautiful and not bulky and chunky. I also wanted it to be seamless and shaped more like a shoe than a sock; this lovely slipper is the result. It knits up quickly and uses less than 50 grams of yarn (I made a medium circumference with a 9 inch foot and my slippers used 44 grams of yarn).

This slipper was originally scheduled for release 4 months later than it actually was released, but several knitters who watched the design evolve on social media reached out and asked if it could possibly be released in time for Christmas/holiday knitting, so here we are. I’ll be knitting a few pairs of these in various sizes and keeping them in a basket by our front door for people who want to wear slippers when they’re visiting during the cold months.

This slipper uses sideways construction and the cast on stitches are the centre back of the heel; the slipper then evolves from the centre back heel toward the front, with both sides and the sole being worked simultaneously. The stitch pattern is both written and charted and schematics are included. The pattern includes links to video demonstrations of the cast on method and stitch pattern. Instructions are included for 5 circumferences and the foot length is customizable.
