Element socks
Meet the Element socks! With a lush and extra cushy garter rib stitch pattern, these socks are super warm and super comfortable. Knit cuff-down with a traditional heel flap & gusset. Written for magic loop but easily adaptable to your preferred sock knitting method. Oh, and they’re REVERSIBLE!
Sizes: Baby, Kid, (Adult S, Adult M, Adult L)
with finished foot circumferences of 4, 6 (7, 8, 9) inches
Note on sizing: choose a size that is AT LEAST 0.5” smaller than the circumference of your foot, so that the socks have negative ease. Ideally, the socks should be knit with 1-1.5” of negative ease so that the socks snugly hug your feet.
Yarn: YOTH Little Brother (80% Merino Wool, 10% Cashmere, 10% Nylon (polyamide), 435 yards, 100 grams); 1, 1, (1, 1, 1) skeins
OR
185, 280, (325, 375, 420) yards of fingering weight yarn
Needles: US 1 / 2.25 mm circular needles with at least a 32” cable for magic loop
Notions: Tapestry needle (for kitchener stitch)
Gauge: 8 st & 12 rows = 1 inch in Garter Rib stitch pattern on US 1 / 2.25 mm needles
