Designed to work with my 1-oz packets of spinning rolags, this earwarmer is shaped with short rows. The back of the earwarmer is uninterrupted ribbing, and the short rows begin near the ear.

The rolags I sell yield a woolen-spun singles yarn which is soft and lofty with lots of air trapped in the twist. Any similarly-spun commercial yarn would suffice (such as Malabrigo).

While this earwarmer will fit most heads, I would suggest either using worsted yarn and appropriate needles, or adding stitches in sets of 4 (to accommodate the ribbing). If you add stitches, be aware that the final central stitch count will change from 28 stitches to 28 plus whatever you added.
