Abbreviations
The pattern is worked using US Crochet Terms. Conversions to UK terms are shown below in parentheses:
mr - magic ring (magic ring)
ch - chain (chain)
slst – slip stich (slip stich)
sc - single crochet (double crochet)
inc – increase in single crochet
dec – decrease in single crochet
sc back loop only - single crochet back loop only (double crochet back loop only)
4-dc cluster – 4double crochet cluster. To crochet a cluster, start with a double crochet, but do not finish it. You crochet 3 more double crochets from the same stitch from the previous round, but do not finish them. So the first loop is on your crochet hook and for each double crochet there is another loop = 5 loops. You pull the yarn through these loops at once, which means that the double crochets are all finished at once. Then crochet a chain stitch and then carry on working as normal.
