This pattern is for the elephant in the picture (including the cardigan and the hat).

The pattern is written using American terminology and requires intermediate crochet skills. I tried to cut down the sewing to a minimum, so you’ll only need to sew the body to the head and the hat to the head. All the other body parts (ears, arms and legs) are attached by crochet as you go.

This pattern calls for chenille chunky yarn and a 5 mm crochet hook, but, alternatively, you can use any other yarn you want and a matching hook (the dimensions and texture of the finished item will vary accordingly).

You will need:

• James C. Brett Flutterby Chunky yarn in body colour, dress colour, cardigan colour and white for the lace
• DK black yarn for embroidering the eyebrows
• 5 mm crochet hook
• Yarn needle
• Scissors
• Toy stuffing
• Stitch marker
• 12 mm safety eyes
