Elephant Hat
SHORT OVERVIEW
The hat is worked in the round with a circular needle, bottom-up. Change to double pointed needles when necessary. First work rib, then work simple stockinette stitch.
SIZE
One adult size
fit different heads between 22-24 in/56-62 cm
9’’/23 cm tall
GAUGE
10 x 10 cm 4 x 4 inch = 24 stitches in width and 28 rows/rounds on US 6 (4 mm) in height with colorwork, after blocking.
MATERIALS
- US 6 (4mm) circular needles or US 6 (4mm) double pointed needles or size to obtain gauge
- US 4 (3.5mm) circular needles or half smaller than main needle for the rib
Any DK/Worsted Weight (4) yarn to achieve recommended gauge
I used Yarn Drops Lima (65% wool, 35% alpaca) 109 yds/1.8 oz (100 m/50 g).
Main color:
Khaki 7810 - 2 skeins, 100 g
Contrast color:
Pearl grey 9020 - 1 skein, 50 g
