You’ve seen crocheted cacti – maybe you even have a few lining your windowsill. But what about a little bird to live inside your next cactus? Crochet this elf owl and his mini saguaro home to add to your collection!

Materials:
Worsted weight yarn in gray, green, orange or terra cotta, white, and yellow
Small amount of black or very dark gray worsted weight yarn
Polyfill or other stuffing
Two 6mm black animal eyes
Optional: dried beans or corn to add weight
Size G/6 (4mm) crochet hook
Yarn needle

Finished size: Cactus with pot is about 5” tall, owl is about 2”.

Pattern stitches: single crochet, some half double crochet and double crochet

Skill level: Advanced beginner, requires knowledge of crocheting in the round, increasing and decreasing, and working in back loops. Basic sewing skills are also required.
