This hat should fit most adults with average size head and some kids with larger heads like my son :)
I needed a hat for a smaller head and decided that instead of making a new pattern i would try changing my hook size. I went down 2 sizes and achieved a smaller hat that will fit a child between age 1 and 4 depending on head size. You could also get a bigger hat by going up a hook size or 2.

Hook size is everything! If you use a different size hook than I did you may end up with a smaller or bigger item. Also, I use mostly RedHeart Super Saver yarn or Caron One Pound yarn. Sometimes you will find that the yarn is slightly thicker even with the same color and brand. In this case you may end up with the size of the items to be a bit off. If this happens you will want to change the hook size or yarn to make everything fit. :)

This pattern is written in English, using US Crochet Terms. I do not use abbreviations for my patterns. If you are new to patterns it should be easy to read mine because you do not have to keep looking up terms. I learned to crochet at age 11 and I still find some patterns to be a tad hard to follow so I have tried very hard to write mine to make more sense.
