The Elfin Duffle is a whimsical but useful design for babies and children aged up to approximately 3 years. It has a pointed hood finished with a tassel and picot or eyelet borders. Instructions are given for knitting a contrasting picot. The eyelet version is knitted straight to the armholes while the picot version is wider at the lower edge and tapers in. Any good quality double knitting yarn with the same gauge would work well for this design. I used wool for extra warmth. The duffle is is knitted flat in parts, and the instructions are written. You will ned a small amount of a contrasting yarn for the two colour version. All style require 3 toggles or you could use buttons.
