Elia and Gin Amigurumi
ELIA the polar bear and GIN the robin, DIY amigurumi pattern. Detailed instructions and numerous photos of the steps.
The bear is composed of 4 main parts to sew together at the end. The body is worked from the bottom up, the paws are joined to it as you proceed. The coat, boots, and scarf are made separately.
Gin is composed of 4 small parts to sewn together at the end.
The peculiarity of Johandmadedesign’s amigurumi patterns is the attention to shapes, modeled with a carefully studied game of increases and decreases. Each stitch is a surprise, the shapes are outlined as the work goes on.
The STORY of Elia and Gin
Gin, an enterprising young robin, had decided to explore the world. One day, a strong wind carried him all the way to the North Pole. The little bird found himself in a white and cold expanse and the only thing to perch on to scan the horizon was a black ledge. As he jumped awkwardly on the big nose of the bear Elia, turning here and there on himself, he met his deep black eyes that looked at him amused. For the surprise, the robin fell to the ground, its beak wide open: he had never seen a polar bear.
From that day on, the two of them became inseparable and Elia the polar bear began to dress up so that his new friend would never lose sight of him in the snow.
Gin was called that because he had a strange way of flying up and down, accentuated by the freezing weather, he looked like a drunken little bird. To keep him warm, Elia let Gin snuggle into his thick fur and made a scarf for him with a thread of his soft coat.
