Eliza's Wrap
“It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a displaced person in possession of a new abode in slightly exotic location must be in want of visitors from home.”
While that’s not truly a quote from Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, it’s a well phrased observation that resonates with me, and probably would have with out-of-her-element Eliza Bennet, had she lived in the Internet age. As a ‘displaced’ knitter with an “abode in a slightly exotic location”, I’ve created a wrap that combines the comforts of cozy home with a slightly Ottoman flare in design. A trellis ‘collar’ worthy of Pemberley or Topkapi encircles the body and cuffs, trimmed with a leafy lace stitch. The back trails vines, welcome as those “visitors from home”.
