This pattern is for a pair of cable lace socks. The cable itself is a Japanese cable that is just perfect for socks. There’s enough “give”, partly as a result of the lace insertion, to make the sock very comfortable, but enough unusual cabling combined with the lace to make them interesting to look at and fun to knit.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of knitting and purling, lace knitting and cabling).

The cable stitch is charted only.

This pattern is written for 2 circular needles and is written for sizes Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large, and is sized by gauge

The sock pictured here was made with Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock yarn, in colorway, Fjord. A good substitute would be Handmaiden’s Bluenose Sock Yarn.

The socks shown in the sample was expertly test knitted by Phyllis Lederman who can be contacted at: phyllisgl@verizon.net
