This pattern is very easy and beginner friendly! It has a lot of step-by-step pictures with instructions, both in the crocheting part and in the assembly part, to help those who are not comfortable with only a written pattern. The chicken has few rounds and stitches, so you will finish the chicken in a fairly short time. The comb, hackle and beak are sewn onto the body, while the tail feathers are crocheted directly onto the body.

There are two versions of the pattern, one in English with U.S. terminology and one in Swedish. You will also get a compendium with descriptions and step-by-step pictures of the techniques involved in this project, and some tips and tricks if you are a beginner (also two versions, English and Swedish).

The pattern includes a step-by-step picture guided approach for complete beginners and those who prefer pictures, but also includes a printer-friendly page for more experienced crocheters. Or if you just want fewer pictures to print.

Approximate size is 9 cm high and 14 cm long, which varies based on yarn weight, hook size and the tightness of the stitches.

The pattern uses only basic stitches and is great if you are new to crocheting or want to encourage a friend to try!

Materials
White or gray yarn for body and tail feathers (25 g)
Yellow or orange yarn for beak
Red yarn for comb and hackle
Black or blue yarn for eyes
Stuffing
Darning needle to attach the parts

The pattern calls for chenille yarn, but you can make it in another yarn if you want to and change hook size accordingly. If you are new to crocheting it can be easier to see the stitches if you use a thick twisted yarn in acrylic or cotton.
