arfait Chunky or Similar Weight 6 Yarn: Primary color, & Secondary Color
Hook: 4.5 mm
20 mm Safety Eyes or preferred size
Polyfil
2 Stitch Markers
Yarn Needle
Scissors

Special Notes:
not SL ST and CH1 at the end of each row. Use a stitch marker to mark the beginning of each round
Color changes should be made in the final pull through of the previous stitch. see page 3 for clarification
Rounds are only in BLO if the abbreviation is at the start of the round. All other rounds are worked normally through both loops.

Measurements:
If using the same kind of yarn and hook, your finished Elephant will measure approximately 9.5 inches tall from head to foot.

Glossary:
CH: Chain

BLO: Back Loop Only

Dec: Decrease- insert hook into Front Loops only of the next two stitches. Yarn Over and Pull through two loops. Yarn Over and pull through the remaining two loops on the hook.

FO: Finish Off by threading the tail through the Front Loop of the last round then pulling closed.

Hdc: Half Double Crochet

Inc: Increase - two single crochets in the same stitch

Mr: Magic Ring

P: The following stitches are worked using the Primary Color

S: The following stitches are worked using the Secondary Color

SC: Single Crochet

(sc, inc) x 6: Complete a sc and then an increase. Repeat 6 times.
