Ellacott
Ellacott is the ultimate beginner sweater! Ellacott is split into three equal sections so you can play with colour combinations and show off your favourite yarn to the world. Work in two colours for bold stripes, three contrasting colours for a daring look or perhaps explore tonal gradients? The choice is yours!
Worked flat in pieces from the bottom up, Ellacott is worked in stocking stitch throughout. The front and back are worked with no shaping, and the sleeves are worked from the bottom up with simple increases before being seamed to the body pieces. The neckband is picked up and a few rows are worked in the round before casting off, creating a neat rolled neckband. Made & Worn patterns help make fit issues a thing of the past! Designed to be worn with 20 cm positive ease over the bust and with fitted sleeves, Ellacott requires six different body measurements to help you create a sweater that you cannot wait to show off!
Please note: Instructions are in written format only. Charted instructions will form part of an update in the coming weeks.

What is Made & Worn?
Made & Worn patterns are a little unusual. They are digital-only and run from our website. Each instruction is provided line by line and step by step, meaning your progress is tracked live and you can pick up just where you left off without worry. Our platform also allows knitters to start working from their phone, and pick up again straight away on a tablet or computer.
Made & Worn allows knitters the freedom to customise their patterns so that they can create garments that truly represent them and perfectly compliment their wardrobe. Each of our patterns comes with a range of customisation options, from ribs and textures in our Winter 18 collection of accessories, to pattern placement, colour blocking and positive ease in our Autumn collection.
Made & Worn patterns are generated completely by the measurements you input. For sweaters, we ask for bust, body length, arm length and bicep to name a few, and each of these is used to calculate a pattern that is tailored to the knitter. The exact rows and stitches are provided, so there is no more need for approximating.
Made & Worn asks each knitter to swatch before they start. We all dislike swatching but it makes such a difference! We ask knitters to work a set number of stitches and rows, then after the swatch is blocked, the measurements are input and used as the basis for all the pattern calculations. Therefore the pattern is adapted to fit each knitter’s personal gauge. This means that knitters have the freedom to use their favourite yarn and needles, regardless of the pattern. Our patterns come with suggested yarn weights, but these are only guidelines and in fact, you can use a really broad range of weights and needles, to create your perfect fabric. We just take the measurements from your final swatch so for Made & Worn, it is fabric first, pattern second, no adjustments necessary!
