This is a pattern for a scarf (or stole) in a zigzag lace pattern that is easy to memorize. You can add a lace edging of your choice to make the scarf even more elegant.
Choose a soft fingering or lace weight yarn and relatively thick needles in order to get a light and drapey scarf. The gauge is not important and depends on your choice of yarn and needles. Make this scarf using any yarn and needles you prefer, but knit at a loosened gauge and block the scarf when finished.
Remove or add a lace repeat to make the scarf narrower or wider.
