Elliot and Eleanor the Elephants
This is a crochet pattern for a cute and supersoft elephant toy that comes in two versions: a boy and a girl. For an added touch of softness and a luxurious feel, the elephants are made with chenille chunky yarn and a 5 mm crochet hook. They measure ~9” standing and ~6” sitting. (They do not stand on their own, their natural position is sitting). If you use another type of yarn and a different hook size, the dimensions will vary accordingly.
This is an easy, beginner-friendly pattern that requires minimal sewing. You will only need to sew the body and the head together. The other parts — ears, arms, legs, braces and dress — are attached by crochet. That’s why it is particularly important that you follow the order given in the pattern when making the parts. (If you choose to make eyelids, they will need sewing, too, but they are optional).
The pattern requires basic amigurumi skills such as:
working in the round changing colours
increase invisible decrease working in
the back loops / front loops only
attaching yarn as you go
The instructions are written using American terminology.
