ELLIOT Pixie Baby Bonnet
The Elliot looks great on both boys and girls, makes a wonderful gift, and helps littles transition from seasons and keep them cozy during the coldest months. Bonnets often stay put on babies heads better than a typical beanie, so we love them!
Pattern is written in US terms.
Difficulty Level: Motivated Beginner/Intermediate
Knowledge and comfort with the following stitches is recommended. I do not include detailed instructions for completing individual stitches, but there are numerous videos on You Tube that are great resources for this information should you need it. I’m happy to recommend a few should you need them!
Materials:
- between 35 and 60 g worsted weight acrylic yarn depending on size (I like “I Love This Yarn” acrylic and can get 3-5 bonnets out of one skein)
- 6.5 mm (K/10.5) crochet hook
- tapestry needle
- scissors
Pattern includes 5 sizes:
Mini/doll: fits heads 10”-12”
Newborn - fits heads 13”-14”
0-6 months - fits heads 14”-17”
6-12 months - fits heads 17”-18”
12m-3T fits heads 18”-20”
Some have asked why a 6.5mm hook? Honestly, because that’s the hook I learned on and years later it’s still the first one I reach for. It’s what I used when I made up my first bonnet and after doing many trials with baby sizing, I decided to stick with it for this pattern even though it’s unconventional.
Because this is an instant download there are no returns after purchase.
