Elliot the Elephant
Elliot the Elephant is great for jungle themed nurseries, baby showers or for the kid that’s in love with elephants!
This pattern is written in US crochet terms. With the a size US-E(3.50mm) hook and worst weight yarn( I used Red Heart Super Saver), your elephant should be about 11 inches tall sitting up, or laid flat he is about 17 inches when using size E hook. The finished size of your elephant will depend on your tension, hook size, and yarn. If you use a larger or smaller hook, it will change the amount of yarn you will need. This elephant is worked in the continuous round so you will need stitch markers as well.
Things you will need:
18mm plastic eyes
US-E (3.50mm) hook
stuffing
tapestry needle,
thin toothed comb
about 1 skein (7oz) of grey, small amounts of white. I used Red Heart Super Saver,
however any worsted weight would be great for this project.
I highly suggest stitch markers and sewing pins to hold the pieces in place as you
sew them on.
Things you should know:
How to do a magic circle
Single crochet, increase, decrease, tie off
Basic sewing skills
