Elliot's Fall Jacket / Elliots høstjakke
This is a practical jacket for fall in colder climates, named after my son who doubles as a model in the photos.
The jacket is knitted bottom-up in the round. The body and sleeves are joined together, before raglan shaping is used for the yoke. The hood is knitted back and forth in garter stitch. The button bands are knitted straight onto the jacket, while also making an edge for the hood.
After knitting the button bands, the jacket is cut open, and the steeks are fastened by sewing them to the backside of the jacket. For this to work, it’s important that a wool yarn is used. Other fibres can be used, but another method for steeking has to be used in such cases.
Knitted in pure wool, this will make a good first steeking project.
